D. 1865 An instrument purporting to be the last Will and Testament of William Lathrop, late of the Township of Rush in said County, deceased, was presented for Probate, and at the same time personally Appeared A. Granger and J. W. Granger, two of the subscribing witnesses to said instrument of paper, who being duly sworn according to law, do say that they were present and saw and heard the said William Lathrop sign, seal and publish, pronounce and declare the said instrument or paper writing as and for his Testament and last Will and at the time of his so doing was of sound and disposing mind and memory to the best of their knowledge and belief. Wherefrom the Instrument of Writing was admitted at Probate as proven to be the last Will and Testament of William Lathrop, dec'd and is in the words following to wit. I, William Lathrop of the township of Rush, county of Susquehanna & state of Pennsylvania being of Good health of body and of sound and disposing mind and memory do declare this to be my Will & Testament, in manner following that is to say,. I order that all my just debts, funeral expenses and charges of proving this my will, be in the first place be fully paid and satisfied, And as to such worldly estate as is here praised God to intrust me with, I dispose of the same as follows. All my goods, matters, stock, household goods, debts, ready money, effects and after my Estate whatever and when ever, both real and personal, I give the use and control of, to my beloved wife, Sarah Lathrop during her lifetime and after her demise, my will is that all of the above described property that may be left after the debts of my wife, be the same more or less, shall belong to and become the property of my son, Anson Lathrop, absolute, having herein given to each of my other children their respective portion: Providing, should my wife survive my son Anson Lathrop, that my will is that my wife, Sarah Lathrop, shall have all of the described property to her own use and disposal. And I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint A. Granger, Executor of this my last will and testament. In witness thereof I then, said William Lathrop have to this my last Will and Testament my hand and seal this fourteenth day of February, A.D. Eighteen hundred and Sixty (1860).
