All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/susquep.html ________________________________________________ Last Will & Testament of Jonathan Newman Transcribed from SAMPUBCO, copy by Jackie Mahoney Susquehanna County, PA, Great Bend, Vol. # 1, Pg. 46 In the name of God Amen, I Jonathan Newman of the township of Great Bend in the county of Susquehanna and state of Pennsylvania being infirm in Body but of sound and disposing mind, do this fifteenth day of October AD one thousand and eight hundred and nineteen make publish and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following, and do hereby revoke annul and set aside all former wills and disposals of my property. ___, I first desire all my Just debts to be paid and as to the remainder of my property wherewith my industry in this life has been rewarded I dispose thereof as follows. I Bequeath to my Daughters, Annie and Johanna all my personal property consisting of one mare, one yearling colt, and one suckling colt, one yoke of oxen, three cows and one heifer, and all my sheep and hogs and all my grain, and also all my household furniture. Beds and bedding and kitchen utensils of every description and also all my farming tools and all the Notes, Bonds and obligations I hold against any person or persons whomsoever for their pro___ use benefit ______. As to my other children namely, James, Jonathan Brown, Betsey and Sally, they are in good circumstances in life and stand in no need of help from me. I bequeath them my blessing and hope they will do well. In testimony whereof I have hereunder set my hand at Great Bend township aforesaid the day and year first above written. On the ninth day of November AD 1825 before me Asa Dim____, Register for the probate of will and granting letters of administration in and for the county aforesaid personally came William Thomson and on the eleventh day of November in the same year also personally came Herman Stoddard the subscribing witnesses to the will and being duly sworn are affirmed according to Law did dispose and say that they were present and saw and heard Jonathan Newman the testator sign seal publish pronounce and declare the within instrument of writing as and for his testament and last will, and at the time of so doing he was of perfect and sound mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge observation and belief.
