Pennsylvania Will Book #2, page 249 Written: May 14, 1856 Proven: Jan 8, 1857 In the Matter of Probate And now to wit Jan 8th, 1857 an instrument of Will of } of writing proposing to be the last will Charles Payne and testament of Charles Payne of Harford township was presented for Probate and Amasa Chase & Sara Seymour were produced as the subscribing witnefes thereto, who after being duly sworn according to law, depose and say that they were present at the execution of and said Instrument as and for his Testament and last will and that at the time of his so doing he was of sound disposing mind, memory, and understanding to the best of their observation and belief. Whereupon said Instrument and last Will of Charles Payne late of Harford; and is in the words following to ____ Know all men by those present, that I Charles Payne of Harford Township, County of Susquehanna State of Pennsylvania do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me heretofore made. I will and bequeath to my children Channey, Lydia, Louisa, and Charles, the sum of one hundred dollars, to be divided equally betwix them at my decease. The remainder of my property Real and personal, I will & bequeath to my wife Hannah for her sole use & ________ money not to be disposed of except for her maintenance and at her decease whatever should be remaining it is my will should be equally divided among my children _________. In Witnefs where I Charles Payne have let my hand and seal this fourteenth day of May A. D. 1856, Signed, seal, and delivered in presence of me Amasa Chase Sara Seymour (Signature) Charles Payne Hannah Payne Admin And now to wit Jan 8, 1857, upon filing the (Cum Testamento___) Bond of Hannah Payne, widow & relict of Charles of Charles Payne dec Payne, late of Harford in said County, dec to the Commonwealth, in the sum of $100, with Sara Seymour and Amasa Chase as her sureties conditiones as the law directs, Letters of Administration cum testaments anne___, were in due form of laws granted unto the said Hannah Payne, upon all and singular the Goods & Chatters, rights and credits which now of said deceased, she having first been duly sworn according to law August 4th, 1858.
