And at the same time came Wm. B. Handrick and Miles Prichard the subscribing witnesses to the said instrument of writing who being duly sworn according to law, did say that they were present and saw and heard the said Edward Strickland sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the said instrument of writing as and for his last Will and Testament and at the time of his so doing he was of sound and disposing mind and memory to the best of their knowledge and belief. Handrick Whereupon the said instrument of writing is admitted to probate as fully proven to be the last Will and Testament of Edward Strickland, Died, and in the words following. In the name of God Amen. I, Edward Strickland of the township of Springville, County of Susquehanna, Farmer, being in good health of body and of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say, I order that all my just debts, funeral expenses and charges of proving this my will be in the first place fully paid and satisfied and after payment thereof and every part thereof, I give and bequeath to my wife Mary three hundred dollars to be paid out of the personal property and the use of one-third of the real estate so long as she remains my widow. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Emma three hundred dollars to be paid in annual installments of Fifty dollars each, after she having arrived at the age of twenty one years. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Eliza three hundred dollars to be paid in equal annual installments of Fifty dollars each, to be paid at her attaining the age of twenty one years, in case they remain at home, after they arrive at the age of Twenty one, their board furnished them, then their dowery not to draw interest, but if they do not remain at house, these to draw interest at six percent per annum, they are to receive a good common school education to be paid out of the estate, while at house to assist about the work as usual, and come and go when they please. I give and bequeath to my son Ira, after paying all just dues and dowrys the ??? net and remainder and other of my estate goods and chattels, debts, ready money, effects and other my estate, both real and personal, and every part and parcel thereof for and in consideration of which he is, as my will, to pay my son Orrin the sum of Two hundred and Forty six dollars and twelve cents, it being his dowry from me and for which the said Ira has given to the said Orrin his notes with interest from date, bearing date April 12th 1862, which is to be all he is to receive from my estate, the said Ira is to work the family farm from the present time and after all the necessary support and expenses of the family shall have been taken out of the products of the farm, then the remainder to be equally divided, Ira to receive one half, the remaining half Ira to use at discretion, all labor necessary to be hired shall be taken out of the undivided half. Ira is to have one half of all the ??? of the stock of the farm, the use of teams, tools, and all the things pertaining thereto and at my decease and also that of my wife, he is to have and to hold all things which of right belongeth to us, to have and to hold, as his own, his heirs and administrators all and singular both real and personal after fulfilling the above requirements. And I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint Ira Strickland of Springville and Mary Strickland of Springville executors of this my will hereby ??? and making void all former and other wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare this only to be my last Will and Testament, in witness whereof I the said Testator Edward Strickland have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal the Twenty eighth day of June A.D. 1862.
