All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Susan Bingler SusanLB@aol.com September 12, 2005, 5:01 am Source: FHL Microfim 1287077 Written: April 1873 Recorded: January 30, 1877 SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY PROBATE v. 4 p. 121-122 In the matter of Probate of Will of Enoch Tarbox And now to wit January 30th A.D. 1877 was presented for probate an instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Enoch Tarbox late of the township of Gibson in said County deceased and at the same time came OSCAR WASHBURN one of the subscribing witness to said instrument of writing who being duly sworn according to law did say that he was present and saw and heard Enoch tarbox sign seal publish promounce and declare the said instrument of writing as and for his last Will and Testament and that at the time of his so doing, he was of sound and disposing mind and memory to the best of his knowledge and belief and further that the other subscribing witness to the said instrument of writing is absent from the county and his whereabouts to deponant is unknown. that the said subscribing witness Eugene Lake (written Lae) subscribed his name in the presence of the deponant and of the testator & the said instrument of writing, and that the name so subscribed is the genuine signature of said Lake (written Lae) at the same time came Seymor W. Tarbox who being duly sworn according to law says that he is the executor named in the last WIll and Testament of Enoch Tarbox dec'd that he is well acquainted with the handwriting of said Enoch Tarbox and verily believes the signature to the said instrument of writing is in the broken handwriting of said Enoch Tarbox. Sworn and subscribed before me the 30th day of January A. D. 1877 H. F. Beardsley Register Oscar Washburn S.W. Tarbox Whereupon the said instrument of Writing was admitted to probate as fully proven to be the last Will and Testament of Enoch Tarbox dec'd and is in the words following: Know all men by these presents that I ENOCH TARBOX of the township of Gibson County of Susquehanna and State of Pennsylvania being of good health and of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revokng all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. FIRST, I hereby constitute and appoint my son SEYMOR W. TARBOX to be sole executor of this my last will directing my said Executor to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses and legacies here in after given out of my estate. I give and bequeath to my wife LUCY TARBOX all my household furniture further she is to have the use of all the remaining property of whatsoever kind or nature so long as she shall remain unmarried and my widow on her decease or marriage to my said children in manner following, viz. FIRST - To my youngest son ADELBERT B. TARBOX the sum of one thousand dollars SECOND - to my remaining children WILLIAM G. TARBOX, ORWELL D. TARBOX, SEYMOUR W. TARBOX, MRS CHARLOTTE FELTER, MRS ABBY E SPENCER and ELLA E BOWELL the remainder of my estate to be equally devided share and share alike.
