Will Book Vol. #3, page #39 Written: 19 Dec 1861 Proven: 18 Mar 1864 In the Matter of the Probate of Will of Maria Wilmarth On this 18th day of March A.D. 1864 an instrument of Maria Wilmarth, late of Township of Harford County of Susquehanna deceased, was presenter for Probate, and at the same time came Martha Guild and J. K. Adams, two of the Subscribing Witnesses to the said Instruments or paper writing, who being duly Sworn according to Laws say that they were present and saw and heard the said Maria Wilmarth under her signature attached to the said instrument of writing. That was in her last sicknap and that she was intirely unable to write her own name, and that they saw and heard, the said Maria Wilmarth publish, pronounce and declare the said Instrument or paper writing us and for her last Will and Testaments and that at the time of her doing so she was of sound and disposing mind and memory to the best of her knowledge and belief. Whereupon the said Instrument of writing was admitted to Probate as proven to be the last Will and Testament of Maria Wilmarth late of Susquehanna County. And is in the words following, to wit, Know all men by those present that I Maria Wilmarth of the Township of Harford, County of Susquehanna & State of Pennsylvania considering the uncertainty of this life, and being of sound mind & memory, do make declare and publish this my last Will & Testament as follows. First I give and bequeath to my son Walter wone thousand dollars with interest from my decease until paid, The bed I sleep on for common with bedstead & cone four pillows & a change of pillow cases, three cotton & wool sheets, three cotton sheets, one calico bed quilt, one cover lid, (said sheets to be equal to a fair average of my whole lot.) Second I give and bequeath to my son George my Hemp & Cutter, my cedar pork Barrel, my box churn, and to Martha his wife one wide striped Calico drefs, one gingham drefs & my porclain Kettle. Third I give and bequeath to my grandson Walter W. my oldest cow & five dollars to be put at interest as soon as received, & kept for him until he arrives at the full age of 21 years, but should he not live to that age it is my wish that Leander Dehis brother should have it. Fourth I Bequeath to Mary E. my granddaughter Six dollars for the purpose of geting a set of spoons. Fifth I bequeath to my grandson Delbert W. three sheep Sixth I bequeath to my grandson Albert W. three sheep Seventh I give and bequeath to Lucretia H. Knapp should she stay with and take care of me during my natural life, (as she has agreed) my bureau, my mirra, best bed, lore bedstead, & ceed, two pillows one pair of pillow cases, one pair of cotton sheets and one woolen bed quilt by her paying. Mary E. three dollars when she receives the above articles. Eighth All the rest and remainder of my property of any kind and descriptions I give to my daughter Rachel S. Bell and her son Dwain C. The in condition of Maria paying all my just debts, paying Mary E. Wilmarth three dollars and giving my body a decent Christian burial. Finally I nominate, constitute, and appoint Rachel S. Bell and her son Dwain Executors of my last Will & Testament and published by the said Maria Wilmarth us and for her last Will Samantha A. Carpenter & Testament in presence of us who have at her request Witnessed the Same, this nineteenth day } Martha Guild of December Eighteen hundred and Sixty one J. K.
