U. S. Colored Troops, sailed from Philadelphia to Hilton Head, S. C., last Saturday. Among the list of officers we notice the names of Romanzo C. Bailey, Captain, and Jacob Schieffelin, Second Lieutenant of Company B. Both these young men are from Tioga. Capt, Bailey was a private in the 6th Massachusetts Regiment which was so brutally assailed in the streets of Baltimore on the memorable 19th of April; he afterwards served in the 136th Reg’t. Pa. Vol’s., as First Lieutenant, and held the same position in the 35th Pa. Militia. He is an excellent officer. Lieut. Schieffelin was a member of Co. H, 6th Reg't. Pa. reserves, in which he served ever since the outbreak of the Slave Holders’ Rebellion. Lieut. Seth Lewis of Co. A, was late Superintendent of Schools in Potter County.
