Bates, 1870, Vol. 3, p. 614: Oscar F. Young, Co. B, 101st Regt. Inf., recruited in Tioga Co., Pa., rank - Private, mustered into service Nov. 12, 1861 for three years. He was a prisoner from April 20 to Dec. 9, 1864; mustered out with company, June 25, 1865. Veteranized. ....................................... ARIAS - Pennsylvania Digital State Archives has: Oscar F. Young, Co. B, 101st Infantry, enrolled Oct. 5, 1861 at Mansfield, Pa. and was mustered in Nov. 12, 1861 as Private at Harrisburg, Pa. He was aged 18 at enrollment, with a light complexion, stood 5' 5.5" tall, had blue eyes, light hair and was a printer by occupation, born in Steuben Co., New York, but residing in Mansfield, Pa. He re-enlisted at Plymouth, North Carolina, was captured April 20, 1864 at Plymouth, N.C. Delivered at Charleston South Carolina Dec. 9, 1864. Mustered out June 25, 1865. Bates, Vol. 3, p. 614.
