Russel Rose/ W. File No. 5718/PA Agency/MA Service/Private Widow Lydia Orvis, m. 1787 Application for pension, 1820. Age 67. He died Jun 1, 1830. Residence at date of application, Tioga Co, PA. Residence at date of enlistment, Massachusetts. He enlisted under Capt. Lebbens Ball, Col. Timothy Danielson's regiment, 1775 and Col. William Shepard's regiment, 1778. He was at the battle of Trenton. Pension allowed for three years actual service as private, Massachusetts line. Widow in 1844 received a pension. Family--Wife, aged 56 Children--Phebe, aged 15; Daniel, b. 1788; Sophronia, b. 1791; Enos, b. 1793; two others, names not given. [not clear to me from his DAR abstract the date this information was given; I assume it is from the pension application].
