 The agitator.: (Wellsborough, Tioga County, Pa.): August 24, 1864
On the 29tth ult., in the Government hospital, Philadelphia, Cyrus C. Dort, of
Delmar, aged 36. Mr. Dort enlisted in Capt. Merrick’s Company Co. A. 187th P. V.
last February. He participated in the attack on Petersburg of June 18th, and was
wounded in the right arm, which was amputated at the shoulder. He was sent to
Philadelphia, and was doing well, when typhoid fever set in and resulted fatally. It
is a consolation to his friends to believe that he died at peace with his Maker.
