The will was filed into the court records 1813-Will Book 1, page 75. Witness to his signature appear Apr 21, 1813, James Boal and Aaron Patterson. Basic points in the will other than the forgoing: 1. Wife-Maria Barbara and bequeaths household items to her. 2. Maria Barbara, wife, gets one-third of estate value. 3. Jacob Young, son, gets one-sixth part. 4. Campbell, 49, boarder Death of Mrs. Sarah Young: Mrs. Sarah Young, widow of the late Adam Young, died at her home at Cowan on Nov 15 of pneumonia, aged 68 years, 7 months, and 4 days. She was an exemplary Christian woman, a faithful and consistent member of the Reformed Church, and was greatly esteemed by her many friends. She is survived by two daughters, namely--Nora, wife of Wm. Shemory of Cowan and Miss Ida, at home, also by the following brothers and sisters: John Spigelmeyer of Mifflinburg; Abr. Spigelmeyer of Vicksburg; Henry of the West; Mary, wife of Jas. P. Glase; and Susan of Mazeppa. She was the stepmother of Mr. Geo. W. Young of town, being the third wife of his father, Adam Young, dec'd. The funeral service was held at her late home on Monday at 9:30 a.m. conducted by her pastor, Rev. S. Sidney Kohler of Mifflinburg. Interment in Dreisbach Church Cemetery. The pallbearers were Messrs. Geo W. Dietrich, David J. Boyer, Geo. W. Boyer, Howard Shiner, Harvey Rowe and George Bottiger. Services held Thursday for Mrs. Susan Miller: Funeral services were held at 10:00 o'clock Thursday morning from the late residence in Buffalo Township for Mrs. Susan Miller, 86, who died last Monday afternoon in the Danville Hospital of complications and infirmities resulting from an illness of five years. Mrs. Miller was a patient in the hospital for five days. Born in Buffalo Township July 18, 1857, she was the daughter of Adam and Elizabeth Young. She spent her entire life in the vicinity of her birthplace, and was an active member of the Lutheran congregation of the Mazeppa Union Church until the time of her illness. Her husband, Miles Miller, preceded her in death 37 years ago, the deceased being the last of a family of 23 children. She leaves two sons and two daughters: Norman and Clark Miller of Buffalo Township; Mrs. M. O. Huntington of Mifflinburg, and Mrs. Ernest Leitzell of West Lewisburg; also eight grandchildren and seven grandchildren. Services were conducted at the home and continued at the church in charge of Rev. E. L. Bottiger assisted by Rev. W. E. Smith. Interment was made in the Mazeppa cemetery. He married (1) ANNA REBECCA MOYER 1887 in Lewisburg, Union County, PA. She was born December 1865 in Kelly Twp., Union County, Pennsylvania, and died September 09, 1909 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He married (2) ERMA E. SPOTTS August 21, 1918 in Union County, PA. She was born Abt. 1890 in Union County, PA, and died Aft. 1935. Aberdeen American News: May 31, 1930: Dakota Pioneer Passes Friday: Oscar Young takes last trail: Funeral Sunday at 2:30 p.m.-Funeral services for Oscar Abraham Young, 217 Jackson Street South, who died Friday morning at a local hospital at the age of 66 years, 6 months, and 24 days will be held Sunday, June 1st, at 2:30 o'clock in the afternoon, at the Wilson Funeral home. Rev. Francis Edward Reese and Elder Babcock will officiate. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery (Aberdeen, South Dakota). Born in Union County, PA November 6, 1863, Mr. Young came to the Dakota's in 1883 from Mifflinburg, PA. He settled on a farm home four miles northeast of Aberdeen in the spring of 1885. In 1887 Mr. Young was married to Anna R. Moyer at Lewisburg, PA who passed away September 9, 1909. On August 21, 1918 he was married to Erma E. Spotts. Surviving Mr. Young, besides his widow, are three daughters: Mrs. H. G. Hess, Mrs. H. S. Neill, Jr., and Mrs. R. L. Templeton, all of Aberdeen; two grandsons, Leland Templeton and Harry Hess, Jr.; three brothers, Reuben Young of PA, H. A. Young and D. O. Young of Michigan, and two sisters, Mrs. Milton Hendricks and Mrs. Sue Miller of PA. Other relatives are John S. Young and family and Charlie E. Young, both nephews of the deceased. Pallbearers will be William Stockwell, R. McManamy, Roy Sanderson, Ed. Appleford, Theo. Thorson and Abe. Neer. Mr. Young was affiliated with the Presbyterian church and was very well known in Aberdeen and the surrounding territory, having spent a great many years here.
