Court House. Will book A, pg 268, file #1826-1W. GEORG BUB was born in Germany, came to America in 1766 aboard the ship "Betsy". Settled in Northumberland (now Union) Co. abt 1770. In the name of God Amen I GEORGE BUBB of Hartley Township, Union County and the State of Pennsylvania being weak in body but of sound mind, memory and understanding do make and publish this Instrument of writing as my last will and testament as follows. First I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named. Secondly concerning my worldly estate which consists of bonds and notes and other accounts and personal property. It is my will and do order that all the notes and bonds shall stay on interest until the death of my beloved wife Maria Margaret of which she shall secure the interest or so much thereof as she wants for her support during her natural life, to be provided for out of the same by my Executor and if the interest should not be sufficent for her support then my Executor shall collect so much of the principle as will support her and pay for other necessities and her funeral expenses and my personal property shall remain in her possession so long as she lives and after her death shall be sold by my Executor and the money arising from such sale and the other outstanding monies shall then as soon as convenient be collected and divided share alike among all my children except my daughter Catherine, intermarried with JOHN KISTER who shall have thirty dollars less than either of my other children. And lastly I appoint my beloved son GEORGE BUPP JR. to be the Executor of this my last will and testament giving and granting him all my power and authority in and about the same. In writing whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 12th day of October, 1825. Be it remembered that on the seventh day of January AD 1826 before me the subscriber Register of wills in and for said county personally came Michael Miller and Christian Miller Esq. the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing will and being duly sworn _____ and say that they were personally present and did see GEORGE BUB the testator sign seal publish and declare the foregoing instrument of writing as his last will and testament that at the time of so doing he the testator was of sound mind and disposing memory to the best of their knowledge observation and belief that they signed their names as witnesses to the same at the request of and in the presence of the testator and in the presence of each other and that the named Michael Miller and Christian Miller are the proper handwriting of desenants. The will of JOHN BOOB (BUB) dated the 3rd day of May, 1848. JOHN BUB, son of GEORG BUB was born in Northumberland (now Union) Co. 15 Jan 1776. Died 21 Aug 1851. "The Last Will and Testament of JOHN BUB" In the name of God, Amen. I, JOHN BOOB of the Borough of Mifflinburg, in the county of Union, and the State of Pennsylvania, a carpenter, being weak in body but of sound mind, memory and understanding and considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, do make and publish this, my last will and testament, in manner and form as follows to wit: First it is my will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon as ceremoniously can be after my decease, and as to such worldly estate wherewith God has blessed me in this world I dispose of the same as follows towit: I give bequeath and leave unto my beloved wife Polly, the house and lot wherein and whereon I now live, not including the lot on which the barn stands, as long as she shall live or remains my widow: She may also have as much of my household and kitchen furn_ item, as she may chose for her care as long as she shall live or remains my widow. All the rest of my property both real and personal shall be sold by my here after named executor as soon after my decease as they ceremoniously can, either by public or private sale, as they shall think will procure the best price and out of the proceeds they shall just count one thousand dollars on good security, the interest thereof to be paid yearly to my said widow for her support and maintenance as long as she shall live or remain my widow. Should my said widow however become crippled and unable to do anything towards her support as that the interest of the thousand dollars afforded shall be sufficient in the opinion of my executor to her support and maintenance then they shall apply so much of the principal from time to time as they shall think necessary to afford her a comfortable subsistence. As to the remainder of the proceeds of my property after setting apart the thousand as of aforesaid I order and direct my executor to distribute the same ___________ ______ my herein after named children, namely, MARGARET married to John HOFFMAN, ANNIE, JULIA, SUSAN married to Lewis KOONS, SARAH married William WATSON, SAMUEL, POLLY married to Charles HUNTER, GEORGE, JOSEPH, ELIZABETH married to Daniel BECKLY, HARRIET, JACOB and CATHERINE to equal shares except Elizabeth shall have but one third of what the others shall get respectively. Should my wife not accept of the provisions for her contained in this my will or in case of her death or marriage then I order and direct my executors to sell the house and lot I now live on, in the same way I have ordered my other property to be disposed of and distribute the proceeds thereof together with the principal of the thousand dollars aforesaid or as much as shall remain, to and among my children above named in the same manner in like proportions. The personal property which my wife may chose to retain under a previous part of my will which shall remain at her death or marriage shall be disposed of by my executor in the same way I have divided them and dispose of the house and divide the proceeds in the same way. I nominate, constitute and appoint my sons SAMUEL and JOSEPH above named to be the executors of my last will and testament: and I hereby revoke all former wills made by me. In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this third day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight. (1848) Signed, sealed and declared and published by the above named John Boob as and for his last will and testament, in presence of us, who at his request, in his presence, have suscribed our names as witness thereto. The following is unreadable, but the will was read 28 day of August, AD, 1851 in Mifflinburg, Union Co, PA. with all witnesses present. An inventory of his goods, property and debts was done a short time later, no date on the document, and a sale was held in the Borough of Mifflinburg, Union Co, State of Pa. JOSEPH BOOB was appointed as Executor. The next document was after the death of John's wife Mary (Polly). Union County SS Exhibited in the Register's office at Lewisburg the 13th day of April AD, 1864, which account I have examined do allow and pay the same the accountant having first been sworn thereto Sworn and Subscribed the day and year foresaid before me. JACOB BOOP, the son of JOHN BUB was born 14 Sept 1826 in Union County, PA. Died 22 Oct 1904 in Richardson County, NE. I, JACOB BOOP, of the City of Humboldt, County of Richardson and State of Nebraska, being of sound mind and memory do make, publicize and declare this to be my last will and testament, in manner and form as follows: First. I direct my funeral charges and the expenses of my last sickness and all other just debts be first paid out of my estate. Second. I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter LAURA the sum of One Thousand Dollars, together with all furniture, beds, bedding, stoves, kitchen furniture and utensils of whatsoever kind. All subsequent bequests herein shall be limited and subservient to the forgoing. Third. I further bequeath to my beloved sons and daughters, towit, EDWIN T BOOP, JOHN W BOOP, MARY A CHENEY ne BOOP and MARTIN L BOOP and to the heirs of SARAH C DAVIS ne BOOP as one child, share and share alike of what ever may be left of my estate after item One and Two forgoing have been fully complied with and carried out as therein directed save the some of One Dollar as provided for in Item Four hereinafter. Fourth. I further give and bequeath to my beloved son JAMES E BOOP the sum of One Dollar to be paid out of my estate subject only to the forgoing provisions and directions. Fifth. I hereby appoint, nominate and request my long time friend J.F. Walsh to act as executor of this my last will and testament, his said office to be filled without bonds. In testimony whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name this third day of December 1903, at Humboldt, Nebraska. JACOB BOOP We, whose names are subscribed hereunto, do hereby certify that the testator Jacob Boop, subscribed his name to this instrument in our presence and in the presence of each of us, and declared at the same time in our presence and hearing, that this instrument was his last will and testament, and we at his request sign our names hereunto in his presence as attesting witnesses.
