Cann Blum (1899-1985) Oil City Derrick, March 7, 1985 Venango County Mrs. Hazel D. Blum, 86, of Kennerdell Rd. 1 died at 5 AM Wednesday at Kennerdell Rd. 1 following a five week illness. Born March 4,1899 in Oil City, she was a daughter of William A. and Mary R. Tenbus Cann. An Oil City resident for most of her life, she was graduated in 1917 from Oil City High School. Mrs. Blum was one of the last teachers at the one room schoolhouse at Pithole. She worked for the Federal Government in Washington, Pittsburgh and Atlanta. She also served during the 1930’s as Postmaster at Cranberry Post Office. Mrs. Blum was a United Methodist. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Andrew (Beatrice) Martz of Kennerdell Rd. 1; a son, William W. Blum of Aiken, SC; a brother, Byron Cann of Oil City; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. A sister, Margaret Battin preceded her in death. Friends may call from 7 to 9 PM today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Friday in the Louis H. Osenider Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 AM Saturday in the funeral home, with Rev. Merle Wonderling, retired Methodist Minister, officiating. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
