Cann, 79, of Cranberry, native of Meadville, died in the Oil City Hospital at 10 PM Friday. Born June 13, 1881, he came to Oil City in 1890 and entered the employ of the National Transit Pump and Machine Co. as a machinist when the Transit moved from Bradford to Oil City. He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Bradford Business College. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary R. Cann, a daughter, Mrs. Hazel D. Blum of Polk and a son, Byron I. Cann of Oil City. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Ann E. Pruin of Oil City. A brother, John I. Cann, for whom the local Spanish American War Camp was named, and a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Battin, preceded him in death. The body was taken to the Osenider Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Rev. A. E. Shafer, of Seneca at 2 PM Monday. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
