Born Oct. 9, 1906, in Franklin, he was the son of George and Elizabeth Scott Mihleder. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended schools in Rocky Grove. Mr. Mihleder was employed for 31 years as a machinist at Joy. Prior to that, he had been a chauffeur for Charles Galbreith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, and bird watching. Mr. Mihleder was married June 11, 1933, to the former Susan Borger, who died April 19, 1998. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Trudy) Eddinger of Salem, Ohio; a son, Michael S. Mihleder Jr. of Beaver; 10 grandchildren, Mrs. David (Babbette) Shutts of Palm Coast, Fla., Mrs. Richard (Marnie) Erdelack of Freedom, Shawn Eddinger of Youngstown, Ohio, Christopher Eddinger of Salem, Ohio, Mrs. Earl (Teresa) Flick of Tionesta, Mrs. Daniel (Laurie) Murray of Cochranton, Eugene Rugh of Franklin, Mrs. Karen Beggs of Reno, William Rugh of Winchester, Ky., and Larry Rugh of Newburg, N.Y.; 15 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Marion (Betty) Densmore of Pleasantville. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Mihleder was preceded in death by a daughter, Mitzi Duncombe; three sisters, Mildred Mihleder, Georgie Eagles and May Shuffstall; two brothers, John Mihleder and Charles Mihleder, and two half brothers, Donald Mihleder and Phillip Mihleder. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with his granddaughter, Laurie Murray, a lay minister in the Church of God, officiating.
