Rugh William Clarence Rugh, 70, of South Side Star Route, resident of Oil City for many years, died at the Oil City Hospital at 9:35 p.m. Sunday after an illness of several weeks. He had been a patient of the hospital since April 2. The son of Levi and Esther Lynn Rugh, he was born in Clarion County on Aug. 28. 1869. He was a carpenter by trade and had spent most of his life in Oil City. He was a member of the local carpenter’s union. His wife, Alice Slater Rugh, died Oct. 9, 1938. He is survived by the following children: F. N. Rugh and Leroy Rugh of Franklin; P. V. Rugh and George Rugh, Oil City; Mrs. E. E. Saxton, Townville; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The following brothers and sister also survive: Elmer E. Rugh, Dahlia Farm, Oh., George O. Rugh, Youngstown, Oh., and Mrs. Clara Heuston, Oil City. The body was removed to the Osenider Funeral Chapel where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. A. J. Kimmel, pastor of the First Evangelical Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. Additional Comments: William Clarence Rugh’s wife’s name was Olive Amelia Slater Rugh.
