All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Linda Blum-Barton lab56@bellsouth.net March 10, 2005 Oil City Derrick, Dec 10, 1921 Bernard Tenbus (1842-1921) THE OIL CITY DERRICK, SATURDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 10, 1921 Bernard Tenbus, aged 79, a well known and aged resident of this vicinity, died Friday morning at 11 o'clock, after a six months illness, the effects of a stroke which he suffered at that time, death taking place at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harry B. Greer, of Rockmere. The deceased, who was born in Holland, November 22, 1842, emigrated to this country with his parents when he was six years of age. He has resided near Rockmere for the past 40 years, and was a devout member of St. Stephen's church, of this city. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. H. B. Greer, Rockmere, and Mrs. W. A. Cann, Salina; also, one stepson, Frank Fowler, Bay City, Michigan. Two sisters also survive, namely, Mrs. Elizabeth Russell, of Olean, N. Y., and Mrs. John Grimes, of Galeton, Pa. The body was removed to the Osenider chapel, and the funeral will be held from St. Stephen's church at 9 a.m., Monday morning, interment to be in the new St. Joseph Cemetery.
