Fitts, at the age of 17 years, 4 months and 15 days. The early part of his life was spent in Sugar Grove where he had many warm friends, all of whom were grieved to learn of his death. The latter part of his life was spent in Jamestown, and there, too, he was liked by all who knew him. The funeral services were held at the Fitts home Sunday, April 15, 1906 and were attended by a large concourse of friends and relatives. Appropriate music was furnished by a Sugar Grove Quartet and was worthy of special mention. Miss Lord read a selection which was very appropriate and highly appreciated by the relatives of the deceased. Rev. Gage was the officiating pastor and his sermon was comforting to the friends and relatives present, pointing all to a higher plane of living as "in such an hour as ye know not the son of man cometh." Many beautiful flowers, contributed by loving friends, were strewn upon and around the casket. Those present from out of town were Mary Owens and daughter, Mrs. Charles Kane and son, of Dunkirk, N.Y.; Ernest Stewart, wife and daughters of Warren, Mrs. Hopkins and daughter of Oil City; Charles Thomas and wife, Lynn Hodges and wife, Dr. Hodges and wife, Wm. Stewart and wife, of Youngsville; Preston Morton and wife, Ross Morton, of Jamestown, N.Y.; Miss Margaret Petrie of Toronto, Canada.
