TOLAND CEMETERY, West Findley Twp., Washington County, Pennsylvania Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by Karen Hucko - whucko@valunet.com This lone stone is located in a fence row on the Ralph Dague farm in West Findley Township, Washington County. It is on a hillside across the creek from the house. To the memory of John Toland who died Jan. 4, 1812 Footnote: I believe that Joseph Richmond and his wife Susannah Spellman are buried in this cemetery. I know that they were large supporters of the church. They signed the final deed for the property to be used as a church and cemetery. They were alive in 1905 in Marshall County, W.Va., and I cannot find them buried in any of the cemeteries in Marshall County, W.Va. or Washington and Greene Counties in Pennsylvania.Joseph, born 1815, in Washington County, was the son of Joseph and Mary Wharton Richmond. His wife Susannah Spellman, was born 1816, in Ohio. David Richmond s/o Abraham, married Mary Farabee. Two of their sons, Thomas, born November 21,1835 died November 23,1835 and Abram born June 30,1837 and died April 3,1838. Since the family was living around the area of the cemetery and church, I believe they buried the babies there with no headstones. ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
