Orchestra Page 1 Last Will and Testament of Class of '29 We the Senior class of West Bethlehem Township High School, County of Washington, State of Pennsylvania, United States of America, being of sound, but crammed minds overflowing with knowledge stored up during the past four years, and realizing we are to leave this wonderful life so soon to take up the larger and more important task of searching for and learning to master the instrument we are to play in the "Orchestra of Life", do hereby make, publish, and declare this to be our Last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills by us heretofore made. Page 2 First : We direct that all our just debts, obligations, and funeral expenses be fully paid and satisfied at the earliest convenience after our decease. Second : We order that all flowers and other decorations worn or used by us tonight, be safeguarded for the class of '30 in their commencement exercises. Third : Our places, song books, and the Bible now located in the Chapel Room do we bequeath to the Juniors, and at their death be given to the Sophomores and at their death to the Freshmen. Fourth : We give to the faculty restful nights and peaceful dreams. We promise them a rest from 29 Petitioners. Nor more will we pester them on bended knees and with tearful Page 3 Eyes to excuse us from those dreadful examinations or to let us out a little earlier to practice the play, or to excuse us from German Goose Step. But it must have been hard for them to refuse so fair a pleader. They have done their duty and they have their reward, but it would have been so much easier for them to consent at once. Fifth: To the future Basket Ball team we leave Lou's ability as a Basket Ball player, and hope that next year they will take the Championship of Western Pennsylvania. Sixth : The piano we leave to the pianist, Amelia JONES. Seventh : We give to the Freshmen the following advice, Page 4 which, if taken, will lead them to paths of Glory. Learn to work, if not to win; development comes sooner through bearing failures than enjoying success. It surely is no rush but look at the class of '29 and be encouraged. Eighth : Kenneth FULTON'S love for music, especially coronet, we leave to Bradley SMITH. Ninth : To Shortie MILES we leave Annetta's good humor and tendency to giggle. Tenth : To the Sophomores we leave all our Physics and Chemistry note books and old tablets together with the pencil stubs which have accumulated in our desks the last (six) nine months. Eleventh : To Virginia MILES Page 5 we leave everything chewable, especially the chewing gum which is attached to many of the desks. Twelfth : To the Geometry and Physics teacher we wish the best success in leading the Juniors over its stony paths. Thirteenth : To the Juniors we will all the Class proceeds after the Washington, D.C. trip (is over.) Fourteenth : We leave to the Freshmen our good reputation. Fifteenth : To the Juniors we leave all the Problems of Democracy and the Spanish books. Sixteenth : We bequeath to Miss SCOTT Annetta's avoirdupois weight. Seventeenth : We leave to the Page 6 Juniors all extracts such as vanilla and lemon found anywhere in the High School building. We do hereby make, constitute and appoint the Honorable District Attorney David BAIRD alias Bradley SMITH to be executor of this our last will and Testament. In witness where of we the Senior class of West Beth Hi the testators above named, have here into subscribed our names and affixed our seal this the 24th day of May in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and twenty nine.
