Johnson and Charlotte his wife for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and ninety dollars in hand paid to the said C.C. Johnson and Charlotte his wife by the said William Crow do grant bargain sell and convey unto the said William Crow, his heirs and assigns The one undivided third part of the following tract of land viz the first containing one hundred and forty nine acres more of less It being the same tract of land owned by Lawrence Crow senior and by reason of his death, John Crow being one of the heirs, having become possessed of the same and at the death of the said John Crow the said Charlotte Johnson being one of the three heirs left by the said John Crow, deceased she became possessed of the one third part of the aforesaid tract which they the said C.C. & Charlotte Johnson conveys to the said William Crow forever with all its appurtenances thereunto belonging. For the boundaries thereof more particularly to show, refer to the original Patent and to the division made by the heirs of Lawrence Crow deceased, and recorded in the office of the recorder for the County of Washington in Pennsylvania The aforesaid tract adjoins land of William Huggans John Nixon and Lawrence Crow (a part of the same survey) Also one other tract Containing thirty nine acres, it being the tract allowed to Ruth Crow, one of the hers of Lawrence Crow sen’r deceased and at the death of the said Ruth Crow the said John Crow became Possessed of the one sixth part of the aforesaid thirty nine acres and by the death of the said John Crow the said Charlotte Johnson became possessed of the one third part of John Crows interest which the said Charnel C. Johnson and Charlotte his wife sells and conveys unto the said William Crow his heirs and assigns forever To Have and. Johnson and Charlotte Johnson have hereunto set our hands and seals the day and date first above written Charnel C. Johnson (seal) Charlotte Johnson ( seal) Attest in the presence of us Hezekiah Maun Jr Joseph Hall State of Indiana Clay County Sct On this thirteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty Charnel C. Johnson and Charlotte his wife to me personally known the grantors named in the within [deed] of conveyance personally appeared before me one of the associate Judges in and for the said county and severally acknowledged the signing and sealing the same as their act and deed for the purposes therein contained and expressed And the said Charlotte having been made known to the contents of said deed, and being by me examined separate and apart from her husband declared that she voluntarily and of her own free will and accord without fear or coercion of her husband did and now doth acknowledge the signing and sealing thereof. Given under my hand and seal the day and year first above written Sam’l Risley associate Judge in the 7th Judicial Circuit of the State of Indiana State of Indiana Clay County SCT This will certify that the within named Samuel Risley before whom the within deed was acknowledged is and associate Judge in and for said County Given under my hand and seal the thirteenth day of August one thousand eight hundred and thirty Elizah Rawley by his Dep Clerk James Magwire Scroll Seal (scroll) there being no public seal Recorded and compared with Original March 27th 1831.
