MC ALLISTER. I do not know if he is an ancestor, despite having the right name and unit to be in! Perhaps he belongs to someone else, and they will delight in seeing these records. JAMES H. MC ALISTER Company D & E, 22nd Pennsylvania Cavalry [Note: variations on spelling appear to be made by the official, Mr. Thomas Collins, J. P., at the time of enlistment. Mr. McAlister seems to sign the enlistment papers both times as James H. McAlister. November-December of 1862 roster, notes that his name is shown as James H. McAllister on the list of names. ) James H. Mc Allister/McAlaster/McAlister was age twenty five years of age when he enlisted at Monongahela City, on September 19, 1862 for three years service, as a Private in Company 'D' of the 22nd Pennsylvania Cavalry. The company he joined with, is apparently involved in a consolidation effort a few years later, and he becomes a member of Company 'E', also known as the 'Ringgold Battalion, Cavalry'.
