James Scott's Company of Militia that about four or five years ago, he was called on for a Tour of Duty by his Capt. to go to the Fronteers that he Hired young Jacob Link for one month and paid said Link Three pounds Hard money for said Tour, and at ye time of said agreement it was not known whether any Pay would be got from the Public. Therefore no mention was made who was to Receive the public Pay and that this Deponent and said Jacob Link was since Talking on the Subject and that said Jacob said he would not have the pay that was Coming from the Public for he would not have Two payments, and if any Pay was got that this Deponant ought to have it and farther saith not.
