DEAN HALL Despite the fact that her son Private Dean Hall of the On Hundren and Third motor supply train, has been officially reported as having died of wounds on Aug. 3, his mother, Mrs. Cora Hall of 1418 Beechview ave., believes that he is safe and well. She received two cablegrams from him dated Oct. 18 and Oct. 29, after his division, the Twenty- eighth, had come out of some fierce encounters with the Huns, assuring her that he was well. His last communication, a letter dated Nov. 3, enclosed the picture above and assured her that while he was wounded in action he has entirely recovered from his wounds. He was in the French hospital at Havre. The casualty list of yesterday carried his name among those who died of wounds Aug. 3, and a telegram from Washington had been previously received to that effect, but Mrs. Hall prefers to believe the messages she received directly from her son.
