Raftsman's Journal. (Clearfield, Pa.) February 24, 1858
Mr. Matthew White, of Chartiers township, while hitching a horse to a threshing
machine on Wednesday of last week, was kicked by the animal in the right side,
causing internal injuries, of which he died in sixteen hours. He was fifty-four
years of age and leaves a wife and family.
