Died in Washington, Pa., on the 8th of September, Mr. Thomas Byers, in the 74th year
of his age. The deceased was born in Washington County, carefully trained by pious
parents, and was from childhood remarkable for uprightness and integrity of
character. In 1833 he united with the Presbyterian church of West Alexander…  He was
a dutiful son, a kind brother, and an affectionate father. He leaves a wife and
eight children, with a large circle of friends, to mourn bis loss.
