Caldwell, caldwell.gary@gmail.com, 1 January 2015 Observer Reporter November 15, 2014 William Edwin "Bill" Caldwell, 63, of Oakland, Calif., formerly of Canonsburg, died Friday, October 17, 2014, following a yearlong battle with cancer. He was born Tuesday, February 13, 1951, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late B. Marie Morrill Caldwell and Ralph A. Caldwell of Canonsburg. Both of Mr. Caldwell's parents were World War II veterans. He lived in California for the last 41 years. Mr. Caldwell was a 1969 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School. He served in the U.S. Army, spending two years in Germany. Mr. Caldwell was a photographer for most of his life. Surviving are brothers Don of Canonsburg and Dary (Jodie) of Muse; nieces Sarah (Glenn) Parks of Cheswick and Jannett (Ed) Creese of Hickory; nephew Adam of Cecil Township; and grand-nieces and grand-nephews Annabelle, Alexis, Eddie, Colby and Tyler. He will be greatly missed by his former wife and caregiver, Gay White. Services and interment with full military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. A luncheon will follow in American Legion Post 902, Houston. NOTE: Samuel Anderson Caldwell and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Grimm were the grand-parents
