"Genealogical Record of the Cooke Family" prepared by Dr. Alfred Creigh, July 21, 1877.

"Sarah Swearingen, wife of John Cooke was born in Jefferson Co., Virignia, October 
5, 1771.  Died at "Belmont" the name of her country home, of pneumonia, January 
18, 1852."
