All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/washington/ ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Lynn Beatty klbeatty@redrivernet.com August 1, 2006, 3:38 pm Unknown AGED MAN, RUN DOWN BY AN AUTOMOBILE, DIES OF INJURIES Thomas Devore, Aged 73, of Thomas, Meets Accident At Franklin Thomas, Oct. 22 --Thomas Devore, aged 73 years, who had spent practically his entire life in this section, died this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Samuel Stewart of Franklin, from injuries suffered two weeks ago, when he was hit by an automobile while crossing a street. For the last three years he had made his home with Mrs. Stewart. Mr. Devore was a son of Alexander and Margaret Thomas Devore and lived here continuously until going to Franklin three years ago. Mr. Devore was a member of the Fairview Presbyterian church of this place. He was twice married. The following children survive: H. A. Devore of this place; W. C. Devore, Warren, O.; George R. Devore, New Castle, and Mrs. Stewart of Franklin. One brother and two sisters, also survive: L. D. Devore of Monongahela; Mrs. Jennie Withrow of this place, and Mrs. Samuel Young of R.D. Finleyville. He also leaves five grandchildren, who follow: E. L. Devore in Crawford County, O. W. Devore in Alabama; Oscar Devore and Mrs. Wallace Hamilton of Thomas, and Mrs. Donald Baird of Spring Valley, O. The body was brought here today to the home of his son, H.A. Devore. Funeral services will be held in the Fairview Presbyterian Church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, in charge of Rev. G. P. West.
