Hall, a Claysville Native, Dies in Home of Her Son Here December 1929, paper unknown, Milo Porter's Scrapbook MRS. CORA PORTER HALL, of 1418 Beechview avenue, Pittsburgh, died Saturday at 8:45 a.m. in the home of her son, Robert D. (Delmont). Hall, 148 Wellington avenue, from a complication of diseases, following a paralytic stroke December 8, from which she did not rally, being only able to recognize her relatives and friends at short intervals. Mrs. Hall was born the only daughter of the late R.G (Robert Giles). and Nancy CRISWELL PORTER, of Claysville. Her girlhood life was spent in Claysville, later going to Pittsburgh. For a few years, twenty or more years ago the Hall family resided at 118 Duncan Avenue, Washington. Mrs. Hall had been an invalid for the past year and resided with her son, Dean Hall of Dormont, where she was confined to her room and bed for three months before coming to the home of her son of this city. Mrs. Hall was a member of the Beechview Baptist church, of Pittsburgh, and attended the home coming reunion of the Baptist church of Claysville of which she was a former member. She was active in her church and Sunday school as long as her health would permit, was a devoted mother and a woman of fine Christian character. She was much interested also of the work of the W.C.T.U. She leaves two sons, Robert D. HALL, at whose home she died, and Dean A. HALL, of Beechview, Pittsburgh; also one brother, Roy (Leroy) S. PORTER, of Crafton, and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the home of her son in Wellington avenue, today at 1:30 o'clock with the Rev. S. L. PARCELL and Rev. E. A. COLE in charge. The internment will be at the Claysville cemetery.
