Mr Vankirk was employed at the Annealing Box company. He was a member of the West Washington Methodist Church. He was born in Washington April 8, 1883, a son of John W. and Mattie Plymire Vankirk. On May 16, 1907, he married Garnet Greer, who survives with the following daughters: Opal, wife of George Russel; Mattie, wife of Joseph Wheeler; Emily, wife of Wayne Duke; Gertrude, wife of Martin Stoner; Lydia, wife of Clifford Harton, and Leah, wife of John Jones all of Washington.
