While the church sign shows that Taylor United Methodist Church was established in 1772, there is little historical data available about the church. It is mentioned in a History of Washington County: from its first settlement to the present time ... (1870) by Alfred Creigh. It celebrated its 151st Annual Homecoming Day in 1938. This data was collected by the DAR and found in the genealogy section of the Citizen’s Library in Washington, PA. The data is from 1937 and since the cemetery is still active the data is not complete.
