There is little known historically about the Upper Buffalo Presbyterian Cemetery. Its only mention is in a History of Washington County where the location of the Upper Buffalo Presbyterian church is given as a “spot near the northwest corner of the old burial ground, or "graveyard," as the old settlers in their austerity of speech as well as of manner loved better to express it.” The church dates from 1779 so the cemetery would have had to have been in operation before that time.
