All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Virginia Crilley http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00003.html#0000642 December 25, 2024, 7:36 pm Written: May 13, 1829 Recorded: May 30, 1829 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSNP-SSFD-D?view=fullText&keywords= Francis%20Kerns&groupId=TH-909-69092-66318-5 img15/379 May 13 1829 Deed James Hoy & Ann to Francis Hoy (crossed out) Kearns This Indenture made the Thirteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine To By and Between JAMES HOY of FRANKLIN township in the County of Westmoreland and State of Pennsylvania and ELENOR HIS WIFE and ANN HOY of the same place of the one part , and FRANCIS (Kern crossed out) KEARNS of the same place of the other part Witnesseth that the said James Hoy and Elenor his wife and the said Ann Hoy for and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars lawful money of the United States to them in hand paid by the said Francis Kerns at and before the sealing and delivery hereof , the receipt and payment whereof they do hereby acknowledge and thereof do forever acquit and discharge the said Francis Kearns , his heirs executors and administrators by these presents Have granted , bargained and sold , and by these presents Do grant , bargain and sell unto the said Francis Kearns and to his heirs and assigns a certain tract of land situate in Franklin township and County aforesaid Bounded as follows Beginning at stones thence by lands of JOHN CAMPBELL North fourteen degrees and an half West , one hundred and nineteen perches to a dogwood ,thence by other land of which this is a part South thirty seven degrees West eighty one perches and eight tenths to a cherry tre, thence South forty four degrees West one hundred and fifteen to stones, thence South eleven degrees East twenty two perches and one tenth to a hickory , thence South twenty five degrees West thirty two perches to stones, thence by land of JOHN BACUM, HENRY GOOD South sixty eight degrees and a half (page 15) East ninety three perches and a half to stones and thence by land of PHILIP KEISTER North seven degrees East one hundred and seventy perches to the place of the of beginning containing eighty seven acres and a quarter, strict measure. Whereas the commonwealth of Pennsylvania by patent bearing the date the 13th day of April A.D. 1829 for the consideration therein mentioned did grant and confirm unto the said James Hoy and Ann Hoy a certain tract of land book H vol 27 page 66 of which said tract the above described premises is a part, having a reference to the above recited title it will more fully and at larger appear. But daughters, only get $1 and son William to be put to trade....so maybe there are more clues there. James the son of Joseph, died young only 27 year old Sept 19 1846.... I don't think he married or had heirs. Deed.
