LDS Film #0929115, pages 192-194 Deed James McElroy to Andrew Haslet This indenture made the twenty sixth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two, Between James McElroy and Ruth his wife of the one part and Andrew Haslet of the other part all of Fairfield Township, Westmoreland County and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Witnesseth that the said James McElroy and Ruth his wife for and inconsideration of the sum of two hundred and ninety dollars to them in hand paid well and truly by the said Andrew Haslet at & before the ??? and delivery here of the receipt and payment whereof they so hereby (Page 193) acknowledge and thereof acquit and forever discharge the said Andrew Haslet his executors & administrators by these presents have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien ??? release and do confirm unto the said Andrew Haslet and to his heirs & assigns all that messuage (193) and part of a tract of land in the aforesaid Township of Fairfield and described as follows. Viz beginning at a beach stump thence by land of Robert Ackerman fifteen degrees West on hundred and five perches and a half to stones, thence by land now James Woley North fifty four degrees West sixty five perches and four tenths to a chesnut stump thence North thirty one degrees West one hundred & seven and one- half perches to a stone thence by other land of which this is a part North sixty one degrees East forty perches & two tenths to stones thence South forty two degrees East thirty one perches to a maple thence by the same and land now Robert Ackebon. South seventy two degrees & a half East eighty three perches and six tenths to the place of Beginning Containing fifty eight acres and three perches and the usual allowances the same being part of a larger tract surveyed in pursuance of a warrant dated the 20th day of December 1786 granted to John McCurdy whose right in & to said part by virtue of Sundry conveyances and other assurances in law became vested in the said James McElroy The said James McElroy having made application to the land office of the aforesaid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania obtained a patent for the said part the said patent dated the eleventh day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one, and enrolled in Patent Book H volume 22, page 259 a reference to the above recited records all of which plainly appear so. Now the said James McElroy & Ruth his wife having sold the above described part of a tract of land unto the said Andrew Haslet together with all and singular the buildings ways waters, water courses, woods, rights privileges hereditaments and appurtenances whosoever there unto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversions and remainders rents issues and profits thereof And also all the restate right title interest property claim & demand whatsoever of them the said James McElroy and Ruth his wife in law or equity or otherwise howsoever of into or out of the same To Have & To Hold the said Messuage of tenement tract of land hereby granted mentioned or intended so to be clear of all embarrassments whatsoever unto the said Andrew Haslet his heirs and assigns forever. In Witness whereof the said James McElroy and Ruth his wife grantors in the above indenture have hereunto set their hand & seals the day & year first above written. Attest James Hornell Henry Hornell James McElroy Westmoreland County ss- Before me James Hornell one of the commonwealth Justices of the peace came the above named James McElroy & Ruth his wife & acknowledged the foregoing indenture to be their act and deed & desired that it be recorded as such she the said Ruth being of full age & by me examined separate and apart from her said husband did declare that she signed the ??? of her own free will without any coercive measures on the part of her said husband.
