We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ____________________________________________________ Release Archibald JAMISON To James QUINN Agreement Between Archibald JAMISON of Venango County and Margret his wife Vendors and James QUEEN of Derry Township and County of Westmoreland Vendee Witnesseth Whereas Alexander LEMON late of Derry Township Westmoreland County, deceased, Died leaving issue six children of whom Elizabeth LEMON intermarried with James Scott of the said County of Venango ware one [sic]. And the said Alexander LEMON being in his lifetime and at his death seized and possessed of a certain real estate and tract of land situate in the said Township of Derry and County of Westmoreland and now in the actual possession of the above named James QUEEN, the one undivided eight part of said tract of land descended from the said Alexander LEMON dec'd unto his said daughter Elizabeth and her husband the said James Scott, Dec'd the said James Scott & Elizabeth his wife being since dead and leaving issue seven children namely, James, Alexander, John, William, Margaret, Samuel, & Mary (the two later whereof are yet minors). To whom their mother the said Elizabeth Scott's interest and right in and to said estate of the said Alexander LEMON dec'd descended and whereas By a transfer and release bearing date the fourteenth day of November one thousand eight hundred and thirty four and duly executed the said James Scott & Jane his wife, the said Alexander Scott and Polly his wife, the said John Scott and Margaret his wife, and the said William Scott did transfer and make over all their respective rights and interests to that one undivided eight part of the said estate of the said Alexander LEMON, dec'd, unto the above named Archibald JAMISON and the said Archibald JAMISON Being the Kinsman and for sundry good causes esteemed as the next friend and representative of the above named Samuel Scott and Mary Scott (who are minors) whereby and whereon the said Archibald JAMISON Declareth himself to possess the legal and equitable right to the first above mentioned four interests in said estate, and a equitable title to and control over that the interest and right of the two minor shares above mentioned as will the right and interest of his said wife, Margret which together amonts to the full one eighth part to the undivided tract of land whereon the said James QUEEN as aforesaid liveth. Now Know Ye That the said Archibald JAMISON and Margaret his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty Dollars to them in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and thereof acquit and forever discharge the said James QUEEN his heirs, executors, and administrators. By these Presents have remised, released and forever quit claim and by these presents dothe [sic] remise, release and forever quitclaim unto the said James QUEEN his heirs and assigns. All the estate and Estates, shares, purports and dividends, right, title, interest, property claim and demand whatsoever of them the said Archibald JAMISON and Margaret his wife in law or equity or otherwise howsoever of in, to or out of all that messuage [sic] or tenements, plantation and tract of land, situate lying and being in the Township of Derry aforesaid. In the actual possession and seizure of the said James QUEEN adjoining the Loyalhannah Creek and lands of the heirs of James Coulter deceased, and others. Together with all and singular the buildings, improvements, rights, members and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversions and remainders, rents, issues, and profits thereof. To have and to hold all and singular the premises hereby remised and released or mentioned and intended so to be the one undivided eight part thereof with the appurtenances unto the said James QUEEN his heirs and assigns forever. So that neither the said Archibald JAMISON nor Margaret his wife nor their heirs nor any of the foregoing named heirs and children to the aforenamed James Scott deceased nor any other person nor persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under them or any of them shall and will at anytime or times hereafter have claim challenge or demand. Any estate, right, title, or interest of, in, to, or out of the said messuage [sic] the one eighth part thereof, hereditaments and premises hereby remised and released or mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances or any part or parcel thereof. But thereof and therefrom shall and will be utterly excluded and forever debared [sic] by these presents. And further, the said Archibald JAMISON and Margaret his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars paid as aforesaid by the said James QUEEN doth covenant and agree to and with the said James QUEEN that they the said Archibald JAMISON and Margaret his wife will at any time hereafter on the reasonable request of the said James QUEEN make and execute a Deed or Deeds of Conveyance or other assuances in law for the full share and one eights undivided eight part of the aforesaid tract of land. In Witness whereof the said Archibald JAMISON and Margaret his wife do hereunto set their hands & seals April 17th AD 1835. Witness Present Jeremiah M. Witness Present JB ANDERSON, Jeremiah W PORTER Westmoreland County SS. Before me one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County personally came Archibald JAMISON and Margaret his wife who severally acknowledged the foregoing transfer and Release to be their act and deed and that it might be recorded as such. She the said Margret being of full age and the contents of the release being made fully known unto her and being examined separate and apart from her husband she acknowledged it to be her voluntary act and deed without any coercion or compulsion from her said husband. In testimony whereof I do hereunto set my hand and seal at New Alexandria the 17th day of April AD 1835. John BIGHAM Recorded 5th February AD 1842.
