All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Lynn Beatty klbeatty@redrivernet.com August 21, 2006, 3:30 pm Written: April 29, 1817 Recorded: August 20, 1822 This Indenture made this twenty ninth day of April & year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & seventeen Between Jacob Klingensmith & Elizabeth his wife of Washington Township Westmoreland County of the one part & George Klingensmith & Michael Klingensmith of the Township & County aforesaid & County [sic] of the other part Witnesseth Whereas the late Supreme Executive Council of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by patent dated fifteenth day of August one thousand seven hundred & eighty three Enrolled in patent Book 2 page 84 hath granted unto Samuel Witherel a certain tract of land in Westmoreland County Situate in the Path from Kistie old Town to Chartiers old town Containing two hundred & seventy five acres thirty perches and allowance cawled [sic] Howelton & whereas the said Samuel Witherall & Sarah his wife by Indenture dated twenty third November 1796 conveyed the said tract to John Young Esqr. Of Greensburgh & the said John Young & Maria his wife by Indenture Dated sixth April one thousand eight hundred & ten recorded in the Office for recording of Deeds in & for the County of Westmoreland in Book No 9 page 44 conveyed the tract aforesaid to Jacob Klingensmith reference being thereunto had will more fully appear. Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Jacob Klingensmith & Elizabeth his wife for & in consideration of the sum of one hundred & ninety two dollars to them in hand paid by the said George Klingensmith & Michael Klingensmith & Michael Klingensmith [sic] the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold released & confirmed unto the said George Klingensmith & Michael Klingensmith all that part of the tract before mentioned Beginning at a white oak corner of Kings land mentioned in the patent before recited thence by the same South one degree East fifty eight perches to a post thence by part of the same tract South eighty one degrees West forty nine perches to a white oak North fifty three degrees West nineteen perches to a white oak North forty five degrees East twenty nine perches to a white oak North thirty three degrees West forty eight perches to a spanish oak North thirty three degrees East sixteen perches to hickory thence by vacant hills South seventy one degrees East sixty four perches to the Beginning Containing twenty four acres & allowance of six percent To Have & To Hold the said twenty four acres with the appurtenances & priviledges hereby granted mentioned or intended so to be to the said George Klingensmith & Michael Klingensmith their heirs or assigns to the only proper use benefit & behoof of them the said George Klingensmith & Michael Klingensmith their heirs & assigns forever In Witness whereof the said parties have hereunto set their hands and seals this 29th day of April 1817.
