All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Carolyn Porter carolynporter1@aol.com October 4, 2008, 6:24 pm BOOK 8 PAGE 302 DEED JOHN EWING PORTER TO JEREMIAH MURRY DEED Westmoreland County Pennsylvania September 3, 1806 This Indenture made the third day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eight Between John Ewing Porter if the County of Chester in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania attorney Attorney at low of the one part and Jeremiah Murry of the town ship of Franklin in the County of Westmoreland and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania aforesaid Esquire of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Ewing Porter for and in Consideration of the sum of the sum of five hundred and seven dollars of lawful money of the United States of America to him in hand paid by the said Jeremiah Murry at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold released and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell release and confirm unto the said Jeremiah Murry his heirs and assigns all that certain messuage or tenement and plantation or tract of land called Porters Deerlick” situate in the Township of Franklin aforesaid near the waters of Turtle Creek including the improvement of John Brown and a Deer Lick at deadened trees Beginning at a post thence South thirty five degrees West two hundred and forty one perches to a marked white oak thence North fifty five degrees West one hundred and seven perches to a marked white oak North thirty five degrees East thirty six perches to a post thence North fifty five degrees West seventy eight perches to a dead black oak thence North thirty five degrees East two hundred and five perches to a marked white oak and South fifty five degrees East one hundred and eighty five perches to the place of beginning Containing two hundred and forty six acres and fifty four perches be the same more or less bounded by lands formerly of William Meanoch by lands of the said Jeremiah Murry and by the other lands. [Being the same land and premises which the Honorable the proprietors by a certain Patent or grant under the great seal of the Province Pennsylvania dated the fourteenth day of November One thousand seven hundred and seventy six recorded in the Rolls Office in and for the said province in Patent Book AA Vol. 16 page 58.. granted onto the said Andrew Porter and Charles Porter and Stephen Porter in fee simple and the said Andrew Porter and Elizabeth his wife and Charles Porter by an Indenture bearing date the tenth day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and eighty intended to be recorded did grant and convey two full equal and undivided third parts of the same the whole into three equal parts to be divided unto the said Stephen Porter in fee simple by virtue whereof the said Stephen Porter became seized in his demesne as of fee of and in the whole of the said premises and plantation or tract of land above described and being so seized he the said Stephen Porter and Margaret his wife by an Indenture bearing date the first day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and ninety six intended to be recorded granted and conveyed the same unto the said Andrew Porte in fee simple- and the said Andrew Porter and Elizabeth his wife by an Indenture bearing date the sixteenth day of May in the year One thousand eight hundred and six granted and conveyed the same to the said John Ewing Porter in fee simple] Together with all and singular the buildings and improvements rights members and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the revisions and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and also all the estate right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever of him the said John Ewing Porter in law equity or otherwise howsoever of in to and out of the same To have and to hold the said messuage or tenement and plantation or tract of land hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said Jeremiah (Page 304) Murry his heirs and assigns to and for the only proper use benefit and behoof of the said Jeremiah Murry his heirs and assigns forever; And the said John Ewing Porter and his heirs all and singular the premises hereby granted with the appurtenances unto the said Jeremiah Murry his heirs and assigns against him the said John Ewing Porter and his heirs against all and every person and persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under him them or any them shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.
