All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Carolyn Porter carolynporter1@aol.com October 4, 2008, 6:19 pm BOOK 8 PAGE 299 DEED ANDREW PORTER et others TO STEPHEN PORTER DEED Westmoreland County Pennsylvania April 10, 1780 This Indenture made the tenth day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and eighty Between Andrew Porter of the City of Philadelphia in the State of Pennsylvania Esq. and Elizabeth his wife and Charles Porter of Worcester Township in the County of Philadelphia and State aforesaid yeoman of the one part and Stephen Porter of Worcester Township aforesaid yeoman of the other part Witnesseth that the said Andrew Porter and Elizabeth his wife and Charles Porter for and in Consideration of the sum of three thousand pounds lawful money of Pennsylvania unto them in hand well and truly paid by the said Stephen Porter at or before the sealing and delivery here of the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold released and confirmed and by these presents do and each of them doth grant bargain sell release and confirm unto the said Stephen Porter his heirs and assigns two full equal and undivided third parts the whole into three equal parts to be divided of and in a certain tract of land called “Porters Deer Lick” situate on the waters of Turtle Creek including the Improvement of John Brown and a Deer Lick at deadened trees in the County of Westmoreland (Page 300) and State aforesaid Beginning at a post thence by William Meanochs land South thirty five degrees West two hundred and forty one perches to a marked white oak thence by vacant land North fifty five degrees West one hundred and seven perches to a marked white oak North thirty five degrees East two hundred and five perches to a marked white oak and South fifty five degrees East one hundred and eighty five perches to the place of Beginning Containing two hundred and forty six acres and fifty two perches and allowance of six pncent for roads [Being the same land and premises which the Honorable the properties by a certain Patent or grant under the great seal of Pennsylvania dated the fourteenth day of November 1776 recorded at Philada in Pat: Book AA Vol. 16 pa 58- granted unto the said Andrew Porter Charles Porter and Stephen Porter in fee] Together with all and singular the buildings improvements ways woods waters water courses rights members hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the revisions and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and all the estate right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever of the said Andrew Porter and Elizabeth his wife and Charles Porter of in and to the said tract of land and premises To have and to hold the said two full equal and undivided third parts the whole into three equal parts to be divided of and in the said tract of land hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned so to be with the appurtenances unto the said Stephen Porter his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said Stephen Porter his heirs and assigns forever under the yearly quit rent hereafter accruing for the same And the said Andrew Porter and Charles Porter and their heirs respectively all and singular the premises hereby granted with the appurtenances unto the said Stephen Porter his heirs and assigns against them the said Andrew Porter and Charles Porter and their heirs respectively and against all and every person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under them or any of them shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof the said parties have hereunto interchangeably at their hands and seals the day and year first above written. Sealed and delivered in Andrew Porter Presence of us Elizabeth Porter Charles Pryor Richard Porter Charles Porter The eighteenth day of April 1780 before me George Bryan Esquire fourth Justice of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania came the above named Andrew Porter and Elizabeth his wife and Charles Porter and acknowledged the above Indenture to be their act and deed and desired the same may be recorded as such the said Elizabeth thereunto voluntarily consenting she being of full age secretly and apart examined and the contents first made known unto her.
