All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Carolyn Porter carolynporter1@aol.com October 4, 2008, 6:21 pm BOOK 8 PAGE 300 DEED STEPHEN PORTER et uxor TO ANDREW PORTER DEED Westmoreland County Pennsylvania Jan 1, 1796 This Indenture made the first day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and ninety six Between Stephen Porter of the County of Montgomery and State of Pennsylvania yeoman and Margaret his wife of the one part and Andrew Porter of the same place gentleman of the other part Witnesseth that the said Stephen Porter and Margaret his wife for and in Consideration of the sum of two hundred and sixty pounds lawful money of Pennsylvania to him in hand paid by the said (Page 301) Andrew Porter the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold released and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell release and confirm unto the said Andrew Porte his heirs and assigns a certain plantation or tract of land called Porters Deer Lick situate on the waters of Turtle Creek in the County of Westmoreland and State aforesaid Beginning at a post thence by William Meanochs land South thirty five degrees West two hundred and forty one perches to a marked white oak thence by vacant land North fifty five degrees West one hundred and seven perches to a marked white oak North thirty five degrees East two hundred and five perches to a marked white oak and South fifty five degrees East one hundred and eighty five perches to the place of Beginning Containing two hundred and forty six acres and fifty two perches and allowance of six pncent for roads [Being the same land and premises which the Honorable the properties by a certain Patent or grant under the great seal of Pennsylvania dated the fourteenth day of November 1776 recorded at Philadelphia in Pat: Book AA Vol. 16 pa 58-and conveyed the tenth day of April 1780 by the said Andrew Porter and Elizabeth his wife and Charles Porter to the said Stephen Porter in fee] Together with all its improvements and appurtenances and all the right title interest and claim of the said Stephen Porter and Margaret his wife of in or to the same To have and to hold the said plantation or tract of land with all its appurtenances unto the said Andrew Porter his heirs and assigns forever to the only proper use benefit and behoof of the said Andrew Porter his heirs and assigns forever In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. Sealed and delivered in Stephen Porter Presence of John McFarland John McCrea Margaret Porter Received on the day of the date of the within written Indenture of the within named Andrew Porter the sum of two hundred and sixty pounds the Condition money within mentioned Stephen Porter The tenth day of August 1796 before me Benjamin Rittenhouse Esq. One of the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas for the County of Montgomery came the above named Stephen Porter and Margaret his wife and acknowledged the above Indenture to be their act and seed and desired the same might be recorded as such the said Margaret thereunto boluntarily consenting she being of full age secretly and apart examined and the contents first made known unto her.
