Kentucky, Bourbon County S.S. Personally appeared before me, one of the Commonwealth Justices for said County, Edward Byram, and being duly sworn according to Law, sayeth that James Leech was a Captain of the Militia of Westmoreland County and State of Pennsylvania in a battalion commanded by Colonel James Smith, and was taken prisoner by the Indians in February ?th ,1779 in actual serviss by order of two Sub County Lieutenants and returned home in the fall of the year in 1782, and is now living in Kentucky in Fyatte County. Sworn and subscribed this twenty fourth day of Augt. 1793 signed Edward Byram I certify that Edward Byram came before me, Alvin Mountjoy, one of the Commonwealth Justices in the County of Bourbone and State of Kaintuckky and was quallifide that the above deposition is true and just to the best of his noledg.
