As a Lt. he recruited for the First Pennsylvania Riflemen at Corvalls Ferry over the Delaware River, Dec. 12, 1777. On Oct. 22, 1777 he was made Captain. The survey was made July 15, 1789, and is entered in Vol. F-42, page 59. The map prepared for the Master of Rolls indicates that he received the 500-acre tract.
