Democrat And Sentinel: (Ebensburg, Pa.) 1853-1866: July 23, 1856 July 23, 1856
Hugh Corrigan, convicted in Westmoreland county of the murder of his wife, and
burning her body, and under sentence of death, and which was to have taken place on
next Friday, committed suicide on last Saturday night, in the jail at Greensburg. It
is supposed he took oxalic acid.
