November 1, 1876 Greensburg and all the region of country between there and Latrobe was visited by a terrific hail storm on Sunday evening last, which shattered window panes by the hundred and covered the ground with hail stones to a considerable depth, many of which measured from an inch to an inch and a half in circumference. Persons and animals caught in the storm were severely pelted, and in one case at least a horse run away with a buggy, throwing the occupants, a lady and gentleman, out and injuring them slightly, besides breaking the vehicle all to pieces.
