George Keck, a miner, of Gracetown, set a can of powder behind his kitchen stove after returning from work. His two children, a girl, aged 5, and boy, aged 7, were in the room, and the boy dropped a match into the can. There was a terrible explosion, and both children were frightfully mangled and burned. The boy died a few hours later, and the girl is probably fatally hurt.
