Latrobe Advance, (Latrobe, Westmoreland, Pa.) June 28, 1899
On Tuesday evening, of last week, John Mosby and Martin Coxy, both colored, were
shot, the latter fatally, it is feared, in a mix up at the former’s shanty at Irwin.
The trouble was over a white woman whom they both admired. Coxy died on Wednesday at
the Westmoreland hospital and made a statement in which he said Henry Cobbs fired
the pistol shot.
