(Ebensburg, Pa.) 1867-1938: October 22, 1868 1868 A German woman named Sliver and one of her children, residing at Covode, Westmoreland county, were so shockingly burned by the explosion of a carbon oil can and lamp, on the night of the 12th inst., as to cause their deaths, the former on the following night and the latter on the Saturday morning following.
