Area Math Teacher Succumbs 
A mathematics teacher at the Greater Latrobe Junior High School, Mrs. Anna Mary
Gaut Andrews, 60, of Latrobe R.D. 5, died this morning at her home. She began
her teaching career in 1929 in the Unity Twp. school system. She taught at the
Youngstown Elementary School from 1962 to 1967 when she moved to the junior
high. Born in West Newton Jan. 20, 1910, she is the daughter of John A. Gaut of
Pleasant Unity and the late Mrs. May Pinkerton Gaut. A past officer in the
Greater Latrobe Education Association, Mrs. Andrews was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church, Latrobe, Naomi Bible Class, Order of the Eastern Star,
Ladies of Kendron Commandry and a charter member of the Unity Grange. In
addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Harold E. Andrews, and
the following children: Mrs. Stephen (Rosemary) VanNorden of Whippany, N.J.;
Harold E. Andrews Jr. of Latrobe R.D 5; one grandson; a sister, Mrs. Clarence
(Frances) Vance of Mt. Pleasant R.D. 1, and a brother, James P. Gaut of Pleasant
Unity. The family will receive friends at the James P. Gaut Funeral Home from 3
to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. daily after 3 p.m. tomorrow. Funeral services will be
conducted from the funeral home 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Robert R. Vogelsang
of Latrobe officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery.
