Daniel R. Ankney, 102, of Melcroft, (formerly of Cook township), died Tuesday, May
24, 1994, in Laural Highlands Residential Care Home. He was born March 3, 1892, in
Rector, a son of the late Oak and Nettie (Buell) Ankney. Prior to his retirement, he
was a self-employed farmer and lumberman for more than 40 years. In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Johnson Ankney; a sister Edna
Snyder, and two brothers, Lloyd and Gary Ankney. Funeral services will be held
Friday at 11:00 am with the Rev. DR. Hughie G. Orsborn officiating. Interment will
be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
