He was 46 years of age. He was born on August 1, 1904, in Aaronsburg. Center County, a son of the late William D. and Mary Elizabeth Ilgen Bartges. Employed as a carpenter by the Montgomery Builders Supply Company, Grove City, he was formerly vocational agriculture instructor at Mercer High School. He graduated from Pennsylvania State College with B. S. and M. A. degrees. Mr. Bartges was a member of the Mercer Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mae Huffman Bartges, formerly of Whitney, and two children, Marie and William, both at home. Also surviving are a brother, Albert W., of Tennessee; and three sisters: Mrs. Carrie L. Wolfe, of Center Hall; Mrs. Jennie Moyer, of State College; and Mrs. Anna Decker, of Edinboro. Funeral services will be held at 7 o'clock this evening in the Miller Home, Mercer. Interment will he made in the cemetery at State college at 1 p. m Thursday.
